Tusa and Newell win San Antonio

Georgia Tusa and Cayson Newell both bring back Grand Champion honors from the San Antonio Livestock Show. This is the Super Bowl of livestock shows. Out of thousands of exhibitors two Westphalia 4-H kids bring back the convented win to Falls County. Cayson Newell (at right) with Falls County 4-H exhibited the Grand Champion Market Goat at the San Antonio Livestock Show on Feb. 13.  Cayson is the son of Keith Stermer and Jonica Newell of Cyclone. Cayson has been showing sheep and goats since the age of 8 and now a Freshman at Rosebud- Lott High School he has won one of the most prestigious shows in the country.  Cayson’s goat named, “Southwest” was selected as the Grand Champion out of over 750 other exhibitors and soared to the sale of champions that took place on Feb. 22.  Georgia Tusa exhibited the Grand Champion Market Steer at San Antonio on Feb. 23. Georgia is the daughter of Jacob and Ingrid Tusa of Reagan. Georgia’s family is no stranger to the cattle show ring she has grown up in the industry and her family owns and operates Tusa Show Cattle. Georgia showed her steer named Riverwalk to the Champion spot out of over 1,400 other exhibitors.  She sold Riverwalk in the sale of champions on Saturday.
