I know you

The whole town had gathered at the courthouse for the trial.

The prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand. She was an elderly woman.

He approached her and ask, “Mrs. Jones, do you know me?”

The little old lady responded, “Why yes I know you Mr. Williams. I have known you since you were a little boy, and frankly you have been a big dissappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife and you manipulate people.

She said, “You think you are a rising big shot but you don’t have the brains to realize that you will never amuont to a hill of beans.”

The lawyer was stunned. He didn’t know what to say. So he looked over to the defense attorney and ask Mrs. Jones if she knew him?

“Of course I know Mr. Bradley. I have known him most of his life. He too has been a big dissappointment. He is lazy. He has a drinking problem and he has one of the shoddest law practices in the state.”

The judge took his gavel and pounded it on the table and called the two lawyers to the bench.

He said, “If either of you ask her if she knows me, I will hold you in contempt.”

Sometimes we may think that no one knows what we do or how we are. And maybe they don’t But God knows.

He is like Mrs. Jones. God knows everything. God doesn’t ignore the past, but He can forgive it. He not only forgives, He forgets. David said, “That our sins are blotted out and removed from your life. As far as the east is from the west.” ( Psalm 103:12)
