Nice water tower

Rockwall, Texas, is a town that is a suburb of the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex that just sets off of Inerstate 30.

It is said that Rockwall has a water tower. Not just any water tower but it is a water tower that has been painted in nice colors. It is a really added attraction in which is usually just a big object that is normal part of the city skyline.

Consider how Christians are expected to stand out with billions of people in the world.

The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 2:14-15, “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”

We should as Christians, not blend in or be just another person among many. God’s people are like stars in the sky at night. We are to show our light in a world that is darkened by sin.

If you enter a room that is dark and you turn on a light, what happens? Darkness disappears. In the same way, when we reflect Christ in our lives, then darkness should disappear.

How do you standout? When you go about your daily life, those that you meet everyday, is there a distinct difference between your Christian life and the rest of those that do not follow Christ?

Just like Rockwall’s water tower, which is different than many other water towers throughout Texas, as Christians we should stand out. We need to ask ourselves the question, do I stand out like the stars in the night?
