Constable’s diligence leads to two arrests

Falls County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man with two outstanding warrants Sunday outside of Marlin.

Michael Capps, 36, of Marlin was wanted in Limestone County for debit or credit card abuse and jumping bail.

Falls County Precinct 3 Constable Marion Humphrey had set up surveillance outside a vacant house after seeing two suspects enter the building. He detained both suspects when they left the house. He also detained a third person who was a passenger in a nearby vehicle, according to reports.

The constable contacted the sheriff’s office, which sent deputies who arrested Capps after learning about his warrants, according to reports. The second person, Selena Capps, 34, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine after a K-9 unit sniffed it out.

Both Capps were taken to Falls County Jail. Michael Capps was not granted a bond, but Selena Capps had her bond set at $7,500.
