Trouble looms for rural hospitals

For 14 states across the country, many rural hospitals still face the possibility of closure due to insufficient funding from the Government.

The list of hospitals facing possible closure includes the Falls Community Hospital & Clinic in Marlin, that happens to be just within 40 and 60 miles of two other rural hospitals that just recently shut their doors.

Those two make up for a total of 21 hospitals in the State of Texas alone that has shut down in just the past six years, leaving 160 still up and barely operating.

According to comments made during a recent interview, FCHC Administrator Jeff Lyle commented

“We are not using our reserves yet, but I can see them from here”.
