Cougar pride shines during Homecoming

Rosebud-Lott students and alumni came together last weekend to celebrate the 2017 Homecoming.

The school dedicated the whole week to making sure that Cougar Pride was in top form for the Friday night game against the Central Texas Christian Academy Lions.

Throughout the week the High School/Middle School had themed days for the students to use their creativity to show how proud they were to be a Rosebud-Lott Cougar.

On Monday High School students mourned the Lions by wearing all black, on Tuesday, they put their upcoming opponents to sleep by dressing in their PJs. Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday and the students celebrated Throwback Thursday by dressing in fashions from past decades. Friday wrapped it up with Spirit Day, which could be seen in the stadium that evening.

Right in the middle of the week, on Wednesday night, the Athletic Booster Club held a pep rally/ bonfire for every student in the district and their families.

“The bonfire is a great tradition at Rosebud-Lott,” said Cheerleader co-captain Kennedy Doskocil. “I greatly enjoy it because it not only brings the kids together, but the whole community to celebrate homecoming.”

The turn out was great, as was the energy from Cougar fans. There was another pep rally held at the football field for all the students on Friday afternoon.

The festivities continued on throughout the game with the crowning of this year’s Homecoming Queen and Homecoming Hunk.

Lexi Hughes was chosen as the 2017 Rosebud-Lott Homecoming Queen, with Matthew Bravo winning 2017 Homecoming Hunk.

Homecoming week was wrapped up perfectly at the end of Friday night with a 36-21 victory over the Central Texas Christian School Lions.
