Changes and Updates at Falls County Jail
Falls County Commissioners Court met at the County Courthouse, Marlin, TX, November 10, 2025, County Judge Jay Elliott presiding. Commissioners present were Milton Albright (Pct. 1), F. A. Green (Pct. 2), Jason Willberg (Pct. 3) and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4) via conference call. ADA Steve Sharp was in attendance.
Commissioners approved County Sheriff’s Department officials’ bonding for Tanner Burch, Jeremy Moehnke and James Boswell. It was noted that quotes concerning inmate healthcare are being sought. No action was taken relating to various requests for services related to the 2024 Disaster Community Development Block Grant administered by the Texas General Land Office.
The placement of the monument honoring African American Pioneers of Marlin, Falls County, Texas, who settled in the community in 1867, was discussed as a significant historical event that most may not be aware of. The east side of the Courthouse was favored. Commissioner Albright moved to approve the $54,101.92 Indigent Health Care payment. Seconded by Commissioner Green, the motion carried.
Several agenda items were approved regarding the Sheriff Department. (1) Quotes and proposals for permanent improvements (2) Interlocal agreement between the Falls County Detention Center and the US Marshals Service Prisoner Operations Division for the housing, safekeeping, substance, and care of Federal prisoners at a rate of $80 per inmate, (3) use of awarded ICE Equipment Grant for personal protection gear i.e., new hires, ballistic shields, protective cages for new trucks, computer power supply, handheld radios, computers and laptop docking stations.
In other matters, Commissioners finalized plans for the December 12, 2025 Employee Appreciation Luncheon, catered by Albright Catering. Commissioner Willberg moved to approve the payment of bills, payroll, budget amendments. Seconded by Commissioner Green, the motion carried. Commissioner Wuebker moved to accept the minutes of the prior meeting, seconded by Commissioner Albright, the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:42. The next meeting is November 24 at 9:00 a.m.
The Commissioners Court met November 12, 2025 for a Special Agenda concerning the Canvass for November 4, 2025, Constitutional Amendment Election and the Special Election. The item was approved.
