There will be a Slovacek Sausage Wrap fundraiser, Friday, June 6, 2025, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The $8.00 sausage wrap combo will include chips, drink and dessert. TRIBUTE QUARTET IN CONCERT

FALLS COUNTY FREE TRASH DAY

The Falls County Free Trash Day will be held Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to noon (or until dumpsters are full) at two locations: Falls County Jail Site (2847 Hwy. 6, Marlin) and the Waste Collection Station (330 S. Hwy. 77, Lott). Open to Falls County residents only.

Tires (you unload), batteries, appliances and brush (under 3” diameter) accepted. No chemicals, hazardous waste, roofing materials, tractor tires, tires with rims or commercial company tires.

WESTPHALIA KC ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE GARAGE SALE

The Westphalia Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Community-Wide Garage Sale at the Westphalia Parish Hall Pavilion, State Highway 320, Westphalia on Saturday June 7th, 2025 from 7am to Noon. The 74th Annual Criswell Cemetery Homecoming will be Sunday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. General Business Meeting followed by Singing and Communion 12:00 p.m. Lunch.

KIDS FOOD GIVEAWAY

The Central Texas Food Bank is doing a Kids Food Giveaway biweekly starting Monday, June 9 at 11:00 am at the Marlin Public Library. First Come First Serve. All CHILDREN under 18, including home school children are eligible. Upcoming Mondays will be June 23, July 7, 21 & August 4.

ROCKDALE ALCOA RETIREES MEETING

The next meeting of the Rockdale ALCOA Retirees Meeting will be held Thursday, June 12 at the Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall (formerly the VFW Hall).

Doors open at 5 p.m. with a business meeting at 5:45. A BBQ meal will be available for $15. Annual dues of $10 will be collected. Dessert group A–L.

2025 TEXAS ARCHEOLOGICAL FIELD SCHOOL

Registration is now open for the Texas Archeological Society’s 2025 Field School, taking place June 14–21 in Milam and Robertson counties. Participants will work alongside professional archeologists to identify and record Native American and colonial-era sites.

Activities include excavation, lab analysis, surveys, and evening programs. Youth ages 7–14 can join a special group to learn hands-on archeology skills. Scholarships are available. Register online at www.txarch.org/fieldschool.
