American Legion Park project seeking volunteers

Exciting news was announced in Rosebud this week as Home Depot selected Rosebud as a service site for their 2020 Veterans Day project. A team came to scope out American Legion Park on Saturday.

The Home Depot Foundation will supply the materials and Home Depot department heads will do the work, which will assist with Phase 1 of the Rosebud Parks project.

The first community work day was held on Nov. 8, with the goal of rough-cutting 360-feet of land, but the team successfully completed 362’.

The next one will be held on Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Town Square Community Foundation is seeking volunteers 14 and above to join in on the fun.

Volunteers will be expected to remove trash, remove debris, build the trail, mark the trail, clear stumps, and trees.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear pants/jeans with a long shirt and have a good pair of work gloves.  If volunteers have any of the following tools, they may be of assistance along the way: garden rake, lawn rake, weed whip, garden hoe, pick axe, bow saw, shovel, cutters, pole saws, and chainsaws.  Volunteers should bring water, bug spray and sunscreen as well as facemasks.  Protective eyewear is strongly encouraged.

Everyone participating should meet at American Legion Park in Rosebud.
