Free mental health services from Texas A&M available in Falls County

As part of a federal grant, Falls County community members now have access to free mental health services from Texas A&M University.

The partnership between Texas A&M University's Telebehavioral Care and Falls Community Hospital and Clinic is meant to help those struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems, suicidal thoughts, trauma and many other mental health concerns.

Telebehavioral care, also known as telehealth counseling, is the use of videoconferencing technology to deliver health care services from a distance.

Telebehavioral care grew immensely during the Coronavirus pandemic in an effort to help those struggling with mental illness.

Texas A&M research shows that clients who receive counseling services through telehealth experience symptom improvements in as few as four sessions.
