Rosebud youths committed after school bomb threat

Falls County Judge R. W. Hailey committed two Rosebud juveniles to the Gatesville State School for Boys Monday after they had admitted making a bomb threat at Rosebud High School September 13, 1967.

One of the youngsters telephoned Mrs. John Clark that day, giving her the name of another boy, and told her, “We have put a time bomb in the school building, and it will go off in the morning (Tuesday) at 9:45.”

September 1 marked the second beginning of the Neighborhood Youth Corps. Rosebud has ten youths employed in it, six at the school, one at City Hall, and three for the City.

Rosebud exes are urgently requested to meet at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, at the Dairy King. Two very important decisions regarding this year’s homecoming must be made, and there are several other maters to come before the group.

October 13 and 14 are the dates for the RHS homecoming; the football game with Franklin will be Friday night, and the dance will be at Burlington Hall will be Saturday night. The exes will decorate the hall Thursday evening, October 12.

The District 22-A grid race gets underway next Friday night, September

29.

The Rosebud Black Panthers, who have had their troubles in the first two games of the 1967 season, meet the preseason favorites, Mart’s Panthers, on the local gridiron next Friday night, September 29.

The annual picnic of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Cyclone will be held Sunday, September 24 at Flag Hall. A dance will be held at night from 9:00 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. with music by C.J. and The Jewels.

The Rosebud High School Student Council met September 13 to organ committees for the 1967-1968-school term.
