Rosebud-Lott band shines at State contest
Several Rosebud-Lott High School band students earned top honors at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest, performing alongside some of the best young musicians in the state.
Among the standout performances was the school’s trumpet trio—Adrianna Bouvier, Jesus Costilla, and Perry Lorenz—who earned a silver medal for their rendition of Bugler’s Holiday by Leroy Anderson.
Perry Lorenz, a sophomore, also performed a trumpet solo, Andante et Allegro by Ropartz, receiving an excellent rating.
Senior Cayla Alexis performed Sonata No. 1 by LeFevre on clarinet, earning a good rating on what directors called a challenging piece.
Junior Katarina Powell received an excellent rating and silver medal for her keyboard percussion solo, Solfeggio in C Minor by Bach.
Band directors praised the students for their musical accomplishments and for the way they represented Rosebud-Lott on the state stage.
