What Dental Patients Need to Know about COVID-19 Safety

New Video Shows the Public: It’s Safe to Go to the Dentist

AUSTIN—The Texas Dental Association (TDA) has released a short video to inform the public about the importance of dental visits during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this new video, a TDA member dentist explains the enhanced safety precautions taken by Texas dentists. The video also instructs patients on the steps to take to be as safe as possible for their dental appointments. The video can be viewed on YouTube at this link: http://bit.ly/TDApatientsafety

Members of the public may be wondering: Is it safe to go to the dentist? Is it a high priority? The answer to both questions is, “Yes.” It is safe to go to the dentist. In fact, visiting the dentist is important for whole-body health and illness prevention. This new video shows how dental offices have adapted and how patients can take their own precautions.

"Dentistry is getting used to a new way of normal," says TDA member Dr Sarah Tevis Poteet, who is featured in this video. "Dentists are infection control experts, and we have been for a long time."

Now that dentists are back to their important work of caring for the oral health of Texans, it is imperative that the public knows about COVID-19 safety. That is why TDA teamed up with video marketing company Get Practice Growth to create this video. In addition to the link above, other digital formats are available per request.
