Falls County Go Texan Hosts Annual Fundraiser and Cook-Off

The Falls County Go Texan committee held its annual fundraiser and cook-off on Aug. 9 at the Westphalia Parish Hall, drawing a strong community turnout for food, fun, and fundraising.

This year’s event featured a steak cook-off, a junior pork chop contest, and a dance with live music by Jerry Haisler & Melody 5.

In the Junior Pork Chop Contest, Liam and Lindy Hoff were named Champion Cookers. Coy Loa earned Reserve Champion honors, followed by Paisley Spivey in third place, Savannah Kelly in fourth, and Harris Kelly in fifth.

The Steak Cook-Off featured 15 competitors.

Jeremy Haak took home the title of Champion, with John Lemke as Reserve Champion and Quinn Lemke placing third overall.

Following the competition, guests enjoyed a dance and social gathering, with students volunteering to work the concession stand and raffle.

Falls County Go Texan organizers extended their thanks to all sponsors, participants, and volunteers who helped make the event a success. The next fundraiser is scheduled for April 2026.
