Rosebud PD Collecting Toys for Blue Santa Program
The third annual Blue Santa Program is fast approaching, a cherished initiative by Rosebud Police Department that provides gifts to children during the holiday season.
The Blue Santa Program is a joint effort by police officers, City of Rosebud Staff and volunteers to collect new toys and personally deliver holiday cheer to children and families in need.
In 2024, the program reached over 27 families across Falls County, offering gifts, smiles, and a sense of community and spirit that reflects the department’s dedication to compassion and connection.
“As the holiday season approaches, we’re hoping to spread a little extra cheer to those in need,” said Rosebud Police Chief David Ernst. “If you’re able, we would be so grateful for any contribution to our Blue Santa Christmas fund. Every dollar helps make the season brighter for a family in our community.”
Checks can be made payable to Rosebud Police Blue Santa (no deadline for Blue Santa monetary donations- can be received year round). Unwrapped Toys can be delivered to Rosebud City Hall P.O. Box 657 or 202 S. College Street Rosebud, Texas 76570 (the deadline for unwrapped toys is December 10, 2025 at 5 pm).
“The Blue Santa gifts are distributed to families throughout Falls County the week of December 15-19, 2025,” said Ernst. “Each year, Falls County Adult / Juvenile Probation Office provides a large portion of the gifts, along with donations from outside sources such as local businesses and families. We are very blessed to be able to provide for those in need of help and we are grateful for our community’s generosity.”

Rosebud PD will also continue its partnership with Highway 77 Cafe, sponsoring a special visit from Santa Claus to bring holiday cheer to the Falls County community. This unique partnership blends the café’s cozy charm with the department’s commitment to public service, creating a festive experience for families and children. By working together, they not only spread joy, but they also strengthen community bonds, proving that when local businesses and public servants unite, magical things can happen.
The Rosebud Police Department is deeply committed to community policing, striving to build trust and foster meaningful relationships with the residents it serves. Guided by its department’s MOTTO of: Integrity, Honor, and Service, the department works proactively to ensure public safety while enhancing the quality of life in Rosebud through collaboration and transparency.
Whether it’s sipping hot cocoa or snapping a photo with Santa, this event is a celebration of togetherness and goodwill, and is slated for Saturday, December 13 from 8-11 am. Children 12 and under will receive free pancakes, and attendees will also receive a small gift bag and a snack.
