Two Rosebud Parents Arrested After Children Test Positive for Illegal Drugs

Two Rosebud parents have been arrested after three of their four children tested positive for exposure to illegal drugs, authorities said Wednesday.

The arrests stem from a joint investigation involving the Rosebud Police Department, the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Child Protective Services and the Falls County District Attorney’s Office.

Derrick Bailey, 36, and Jessica Shook, 31, were taken into custody on Aug. 23 by the Falls County Sheriff’s Department. The couple has four children ranging in age from 4 to 12, according to officials.

Bailey is charged with three counts of endangering a child, a state jail felony, and is being held on $150,000 bond. Shook faces six counts of the same charge and is being held on $300,000 bond at the Falls County Jail.

Authorities said toxicology tests confirmed that three of the four children had illegal substances in their systems. Only one child, an 8-year-old girl, tested negative. All four children have been placed into state custody.

Rosebud Police Chief David Ernst confirmed the investigation remains ongoing. No additional details were released.
