Summer Reading Program to begin at D. Brown Library

The D. Brown Memorial Library announced the “Summer Reading 2020: Reimagined!” program for children aged 0-17. Any child who completes a 20-day reading log by July 17 will receive a prize from the library.

The program happens every year, but this year is unique because kids will participate both online and in their own homes.

Call (254) 583-2328 anytime before June  12 to sign up and pick up reading logs and instructions.

While this program is going on, a storytime video will be posted on the library’s Facebook page every thursday, in place of the Storytime at the Library program. Activity packets will also be available for pick up.

Virtual activities are available at www.dbrownlibrary.org/online-resources-and-activities as well.

Guest WiFi access is now available in the areas outside the building. The network is called DBLibrary Guest and the password is dbrownlibrary. The Wi-Fi network is accessible every day from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. only. Users are encouraged to remain in their vehicles or to maintain social distancing procedures if sitting outside.

The library is providing curbside service from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each Tuesday through Friday. Use the online catalog search at www.dbrownlibrary.org/ to choose items and then use your online account or call (254) 583-2326 during curbside hours to reserve them. When arriving at the library, call again for instruction on how to pick up requested items.

The normal 10-item limit will apply and there are no late fines during this time.Use the dropbox located to the right of the front door to return items. No new library cards will be issued at this time, as the library building will remain closed to the public until further notice.
