ROW CROP PRODUCER MEETING

The Falls County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a Row Crop Producer meeting where attendees can get two hours of pesticide CEUs on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Lott beginning at 6 p.m.  Attendees will receive one Laws/Regulations and one IPM CEU at no cost.  Burgers will be served.  Call (979) 219-7761 to RSVP.

Chase Your Shadow 5K Fun Run will be held at Mooreville Methodist Church on Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fun run, bake sale, brunch and fellowship. GRIEFSHARE

GriefShare, a special help seminar and support group for people experiencing grief over the loss of a loved one, will be held on Wednesday mornings, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marlin, beginning Feb. 7 until May 1, 2024. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts via video on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include “Is This Normal?”, “The Challenges of Grief”, “Why?”, “Guilt and Anger” and more. First Baptist Church is located at 309 Coleman Street in Marlin. Registration fee is $25 which covers the cost of a workbook. Participants can jump in at any session. The Sterling C. Robertson Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the new location, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce Building, located at 101 S. 3rd Street in downtown Waco. There is a meeting room there and parking is available.

MARLIN SENIOR CENTER

Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

 

STORY TIME

Children’s Story Time returns to the Marlin Library on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

NAACP

NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hitching Post on 5029 State Hwy 7.

 

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child.
