The Falls County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a Row Crop Producer meeting where attendees can get two hours of pesticide CEUs on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Lott beginning at 6 p.m. Attendees will receive one Laws/Regulations and one IPM CEU at no cost. GRIEFSHARE
GriefShare, a special help seminar and support group for people experiencing grief over the loss of a loved one, will be held on Wednesday mornings, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marlin, beginning Feb. 7 until May 1, 2024. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts via video on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include “Is This Normal?”, “The Challenges of Grief”, “Why?”, “Guilt and Anger” and more. First Baptist Church is located at 309 Coleman Street in Marlin. Registration fee is $25 which covers the cost of a workbook. Participants can jump in at any session. Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.
