Stress busting
The Heart of Texas Area Agency on Aging will be sponsoring a Stress Busting Class for Family Caregivers beginning on Tuesday, July 18, and it will run for nine weeks every Tuesday at the Marlin Public Library from 2-3 p.m. No charge to attend. VETERANS ASSISTANCE
Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans/Outreach. LIGHTS OF HOPE CEREMONY
Legacy Nursing Facility will host a ceremony in August that will honor those that we know, either residents, staff or family members that have cancer or have overcome cancer. They are asking for you to sponsor a bag in honor or memory of someone that has suffered from this horrible disease that most likely affects everyone, somehow. What do you do? Sponsorship in honor of a specific person. Donate $10 per bag. We will have residents decorate these bags, or you can. On Aug. 21 there will be an illuminating ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Some of these bags will be taken to Washington and will be used for another ceremony in Washington D.C. in September. These bags will be taken by Karen Duncan, Volunteer of American Cancer Society. Help us fill up our hallway with Lights of Hope.
