Garage Sale

St. Paul Community Church is holding a multi-family garage sale on Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held in the church parsonage at 212 FM 2307 (5 miles north of Marlin off Hwy. 6).

KC Garage sale

The Westphalia Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a community-wide garage sale at the Westphalia Parish Hall Pavilion, State Highway 320, on Saturday, June 3, from 7 a.m. to noon. Booth space is free. To obtain a booth or be placed on the map, contact Brian Wilde at (254) 718-6764. Sausage wraps and drinks will be available for purchase from the Knights of Columbus.

Lions Car Show

The 20th Annual Marlin Lions Club’s Car & Motorcycle Show will be held on Saturday, June 10, at the Courthouse Square in Marlin. Cost is $20 pre-registration ($25 day of) and online registration at jay.t.elliott@gmail.com. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature prizes and a 50/50 drawing.  Spectators are welcome at no charge to view the Cars & Motorcycles on the Square on June 10 with proceeds helping the Marlin Lions serve the local community.  

hamburger supper

The Perry Ladies Society will host its 5th Annual Drive Thru Hamburger Supper on June 24 from 5-7:30 p.m. or until sold out at 193 CR 127 in Riesel (Perry Methodist Fellowship Hall). Hamburger, chips, drink and homemade dessert for $10.

MCT audtions

Milam Community Theater is calling for actors to audition for it’s summer production of “Baskerville,” Ken Ludwig’s hilarious send up of the Sherlock Holmes classic. The script calls for five actors — four men, one woman — to portray more than 40 different characters, supported by a small crew backstage to help those actors through quick costume changes. Auditions for the show will be held 7 p.m. June 4 and 5 at the Williams Event Center, 408 S Columbus Ave in Cameron. Auditions will include cold readings from the script. It is not necessary to prepare materials in advance.

There will be a benefit for the Clouse family on Wednesday, June 14, at 6 p.m. at the Little River Events Center, 1404 CR 230, Cameron. Honoring Sgt. Clouse’s Memory and supporting His Family. Live auction to support the Clouse Family. Drop off donation for the auction at the Cameron Police Department. You can purchase BBQ plates at the event. All proceeds, without exception, go directly to the Clouse family. A GoFundMe has also been set up for the family. There is a Memorial Fund set up at Citizens National Bank in Cameron.

VETERANS 

ASSISTANCE

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans/Outreach. American Legion
