Fish Fry

Mooreveille Methodist Church will hold its annual Fish Fry on Oct. 21 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Drive thru or dine in for $15 a plate. Fried catfish, hushpuppies, seasoned fries, pinto beans, coleslaw, cookies. Bake sale. The event is at 206 FM 2643 in Chilton.

 

MCT Almost, Maine

Milam County Theater presents John Carian’s Almost, Maine on Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29 at MCT, 408 S. Columbus Avenue in Cameron; and Nov. 4 and 5 at the Kay Theater in Rockdale. Saturday shows at 7 p.m., Sunday shows at 2 p.m.

 

FOOD DRIVE

Falls County 4-H is sponsoring a Food Drive Oct. 15 through Nov. 15. Drop off locations are: Williams Feed Store, 1st National Bank of Hughes Springs, Miller’s Country Market, Falls County Extension Office, Texas Farm Bureau - Connie Tindle, Falls County Courthouse. Bring canned foods to fight hunger.

 

Air Show and Fly-in

Cameron Municipal Airpark will host the 2023 Air Show and Fly-In on Oct. 21, featuring four aerobatic acts. There will also be food trucks available. Event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

HALLOWEEN

Heritage House Nursing & Rehab will be handing out candy on Halloween from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. They are located at 407 College Street in Rosebud.

AGRICULTURE

Falls County Repubicans invite you to join for a Salute To Agriculture featuring Sid Miller, Texas Agriculture Commissioner, on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Center, corner of Mayer St. and S. SEMINAR

Surviving the Holidays is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death and who offer practical suggestions and reassurance. The seminar will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the First Baptist Church in Marlin. Registration cost is $10, which includes refreshments and the Survival Guide. VETERANS ASSISTANCE

Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans/Outreach.
