PRESERVATION ROSEBUD

DAR Meeting
A Ben Milam Chapter Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) membership rally is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1401 W Central Ave, Temple. Founded in 1891, DRT is the oldest patriotic women’s organization in Texas and one of the oldest in the nation. DRT is a lineal organization, comprised of 106 chapters, with goals to educate, research, preserve and protect the history of the Republic of Texas for all future generations. Any woman having attained her 16th birthday is eligible for membership provided she is personally acceptable to DRT and is a lineal descendant of a man or woman who rendered loyal service for Texas prior to the consummation of the Annexation Agreement of the Republic of Texas with the United States of America in 1846. A woman without a qualifying ancestor but with an interest in the goals and activities of DRT may apply to become an Associate Member. The DRT encourages anyone with a love of Texas history to join us in celebrating and preserving the heritage. This meeting is a membership rally, and ladies are welcome to visit us at our upcoming meeting.
RLHS CLASS OF 97 REUNION

STEAK, STEIN & WINE FESTIVAL
The Cameron Chamber of Commerce is excited to partner with 44 Farms to kick off a great day of the Steak, Stein & Wine Festival on Oct. 14 in downtown Cameron. A 44 Farms New York Strip steak dinner with all the trimmings will be served on Saturday evening with two dinner times, 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Get them while the supply lasts, call the Chamber at (254) 697-4979. Tickets are $50 each. Art/Craft and other vendors will be on the square with our Farmers Market, with jams, jellies, pickles, relishes, soaps, baked goods, tea towels, embroidered items, boutique items, , crocheted items, jewelry, ugly drum smokers, homemade tie-dye, and more. Actitivities for everyone. Music will be performed throughout the day, starting with Rocking with the Oldies by the Cameron Car Club. Then later hitting the stage are some newcomers, Lorin & Steve, DJ Scott Leonard, New Trinity Gospel Singers, KCD Band, and ending with a great band for a Street Dance and music with the Gordon Collier Band. Air Show and
Fly-in
Cameron Municipal Airpark will host the 2023 Air Show and Fly-In on Oct. 21, featuring four aerobatic acts. There will also be food trucks available. Event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
VETERANS ASSISTANCE
Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans/Outreach.
