Boaters rescued from Brazos River

Two stranded boaters were rescued in Falls County on Thursday. The Falls County Sheriff’s Office responded about 3:15 p.m. Thursday to reports of boaters stuck in the rainswollen Brazos River near Brazos Park off FM 712. Authorities say they found the men about a mile downstream from the park. They were in a boat with a small 4HP motor that was unable to keep up with the strong river currents. It took about 30 minutes for authorities to complete the rescue. No one was hurt. The names of the boaters were not released.
