At 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 2, of the New Year 2018, Robert Ray “Coach” Akins was laid to rest with military honors in the New Baden Cemetery. He will be missed by all who had the chance to meet him and know him and what he achieved in his life and the difference he made in other lives.
Robert Ray “Coach” Akins was born in McCullough County, Texas on the thirteenth day of May in 1925 to his parents, Lester Thomas Akins and Rosa Mae Murphy Akins.
