Come hang out at night

Next Tuesday, October 3, the Lott Police Department will be hosting the nation wide National Night Out event, with help from the Lott Volunteer Fire Department.

Both departments are inviting everyone in the area to the courtyard between Lott City Hall, and the post office. The event is held all over the country in an effort to bring the citizens of a community together with their law enforcement officials in a positive way. Once again, Lott is doing it right.

This year’s National Night Out will feature some fun from the past, as well and new attractions. Just like last year there will be inflatable games. This year’s games will be a slingshot, and a mechanical bull. Don’t worry, the Dunk-A-Cop game will be returning this year for just $1. Those aren’t the only games to take part in.

The main events for the festivities this year are a men and women’s hot dog eating contest, redneck tote your wife race, and a men and women’s hog calling contest. The winners of these games could win a bed and breakfast getaway, women’s spa package, and tickets to a Baylor home game, $100 Cabela’s gift bag, or a $100 Cavender’s gift card.

If that isn’t enough entertainment, there will also be a few performances. Bring chairs and blankets to watch the MCC Dance Company, the Rosebud-Lott High School Drum Line, and DJ Batman.

Food is covered as well. Just like last year there will be a free combo hot dog, chip, and drink meal, along with free snow cones and popcorn. Elote will also be on sale for one dollar a cup. As a fundraiser there will be turkey legs for seven dollars.
