Commissioners Approve Election Emergency Operations Plan

Falls County Commissioners Court met Monday, August 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., County Judge Jay Elliott presiding. The commissioners present were Milton Albright (Pct. 1), F. A. Green (Pct 2), Jason Willberg (Pct. 3), and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4). ADA Steve Sharp was present.

As an elected official report, County Treasurer Sheryl Pringle shared the implementation of Positive Pay & ACH Reporting solution Cadence Bank. This is the ultimate defense safeguard against transaction fraud service.

Commissioners approved an Interlocal agreement for assessment and collection of taxes with Chilton ISD and the contract with TransUnion Risk and Alternative Data Solutions. The Sheriff Department will use this tool to track down people and allow interfacing with various outside agencies.

Commissioner Albright moved to approve the revised County Financial Policy Statement, seconded by Commissioner Green, the motion carried. Several documents regarding the upcoming November 4 general election were presented including the location of Election Day Polling Places (Methodist Church Fellowship Hall-Marlin, BTW Alumni Building-Marlin, D. Brown Library-Rosebud and Chilton VFD). The Order of Appointment for Election Judges/Alternates was provided. Commissioner Green moved to accept the Falls County Elections Emergency Operations Plan. The County Judge Jay Elliott and Nicket Peoples-Taylor, Elections Administrator, will determine the severity of situations.

In other matters, Commissioners approved the Interlocal Agreement between HOTCOG and Falls County for E9-1-1 Database Maintenance Services and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Services. Amendments #3, #4 and #5 were presented regarding the Kologik, Software Inc. (Software- as-a-service agreement). The software provides training and other services related to the software and enables law enforcement agencies to document, record, manage and exchange information for daily law enforcement activities.

In his absence, Judge Elliott presented updates from Jeff Jackson, Road & Bridge Administrator, on several bridges, employee status and non-operational equipment.

Commissioner Green moved to approve the payment of bills. Seconded by Commissioner Milton, the motion carried. Commissioner Wuebker moved to approve the July 28 and August 4 meeting minutes. Judge Elliott acknowledged a calculation error was made in the 2025-26 budget and had been corrected. Sheryl Pringle, County Treasurer, Georgie Patterson, County Auditor and County Offices received accolades for their assistance with the upcoming budget.

County Employees were encouraged to attend the upcoming Falls County Harassment Training, Thursday, August 19, 2025, 1:30 pm-2:30 pm at the County Courthouse-2nd floor.
