Commissioners talk repairs and revitalization

Falls County commissioners considered the 3 Rs – recycling, renovations and revitalization during their Monday, May 11 meeting.

Jeff Jackson, Road and Bridge administrator, updated commissioners on his efforts to recycle tractor tires, informing them of the type of equipment he will need to transport the tires to a recycle location.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Nita Wuebker informed the court she is in the process of applying for a grant to help with the cost of removing the discarded tires.

While he had the floor, Jackson asked to be granted some flexibility in scheduling his work crews in consideration of bad weather. He said he felt it was prudent to release workers if the weather prevents them from doing their work and to reschedule them for a later day in the week. His presentation ended after some discussion about specific times being established for each work day’s meal breaks.
