County lifts burn ban for a week

The Falls County Commissioners Court held a Special Agenda meeting at the County Courthouse on Monday, May 2, with County Judge Jay Elliott presiding. Present were Commissioners Milton Albright (Pct. 1), F.A. Green (Pct. 2), Jason Willberg (Pct. 3) and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4).

Commissioners moved to lift the outdoor burning ban for one week through May 9.

Commissioner Albright moved to proceed with the payment to Falls Community Hospital for the Indigent Health Care program.

Commissioner Green moved to approve the administration of the County employee “cafeteria plan” effective May 1, 2022, until April 30, 2023.

The Commissioners also approved the payment to Lake Shore Funeral Home for an indigent cremation.

American Rescue Plan Project Manager, Jerri Gauntt, presented an overview of the application process. Sixteen applications were considered for review during the meeting. Due to applications missing various criteria, several applicants will receive a 90-day extension (Aug. 1, 2022) to submit the information to meet the requirements. With no further business, the meeting adjourned.
