COVID vaccines available at clinic

Marlin Rural Healthcare Clinic now has vaccines available.

Group 1b is eligible as well as the previous priority groups.

There were 40 doses available as of Tuesday, Jan. 5. Appointment hours are between 1:30 and 4 pm. Patients must be prepared to sit for 30 minutes after the vaccine is administered for observation purposes.

Group 1b includes the following: 1. People age 65 or older 2. People 16 years of age and older with at least one chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk for severe illness from the virus, such as, but not limited to: cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies, solid organ transplantation, obesity and severe obesity (BMI of 30 kg/m2 or higher), pregnancy, sickle cell disease, Type II Diabetes mellitus.
