Falls County Aggie Muster set for April 21

The Falls County A&M Club invites you and your family to join us for the 2022 Falls County Aggie Muster.

Former students of Texas A&M University will assemble in Falls County on Thursday, April 21,  for the Annual Falls County Texas Aggie Muster in honor of all Texas Aggies that have passed away during the last year. Muster is open to all former students and their families, current students, parents of students, and friends of Texas A&M.

Texas A&M is in its “Second Century of Greatness.” During the last 100 years, Texas A&M has grown from a small Land Grant College to one of the leading research and educational institutions in the nation. Aggie Muster dates back to 1883 and has been held annually since. More than 400 Musters will be held around the world, wherever Texas A&M former students live or work. During wars, Aggies mustered in foxholes, on the battlefield, aboard ships, in airplanes, and in medical hospitals. In World War II, a Muster was held on Corregidor Island shortly before the Japanese captured it in 1942. The annual Texas Aggie Muster is one of Texas A&M’s greatest traditions.

Every Muster ceremony is the same. Texas Aggies pay their respects to all those who are absent because of death since the last Muster. If you have a name that should be submitted, please contact us. The names of the honored dead are called from the Muster Roll. To honor the deceased, a friend will answer, “HERE!” symbolizing that their memory lives on in the hearts of Aggies everywhere. Muster is more than a ceremony; it is also a way for Aggies to renew their loyalty and unity which constitutes the foundation of their friendship for each other and love and devotion for Texas A&M.

This year, the Falls County Muster will be held in Marlin at The Chicken Place. Muster will be Thursday, April 21, with a 6 p.m. start as we howdy, shake hands, and visit. The catered meal will begin at 7 p.m. The cost for the meal will be $15 with an additional optional cost of $5 for Falls County A&M Club membership dues. The 2022 Muster Message will be delivered by the Honorable Charles (Doc) Anderson’81, Texas State Representative for District 56. Representative Anderson currently serves as Chairman of the Texas Legislative Rural Caucus, Vice-Chairman, Texas House Aerospace Caucus, Vice-Chairman, House Committee on Energy, and House Committee on Agriculture and Livestock

A graduate of the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine, Doc Anderson has served as a small animal veterinarian in Waco since 1981. Representative Anderson and his wife Lyn live in Lorena, Texas. Doc was elected to represent District 56 (Waco & McLennan County) in 2004. He has served as Chair or member on many Legislative Advocacy Groups and has been the recipient of many awards for his service. Legislative highlights include major legislation concerning school bus safety belts, punishment for child predators (Jessica’s Law), and issues regarding property tax exemptions for surviving spouse of veterans. Among his many accomplishments and awards, he was also recognized as the outstanding alumnus of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2014.
