Falls County Aggies plan to Muster April 21

The Falls County A&M Club invites you and your family to join us for the 2021 Falls County Aggie Muster where we will honor local and area Aggies that have died during this past year.

Former students of Texas A&M University will assemble in Falls County on Wednesday, April 21, for the Annual Falls County Texas Aggie Muster in honor of all Texas Aggies that have passed away during the last year.   Muster is open to all former students and their families, current students, parents of students, and friends of Texas A&M.

Texas A&M is in its “Second Century of Greatness.” During the last 100 years, Texas A&M has grown from a small Land Grant College to one of the leading research and educational institutions in the nation.  Aggie Muster dates back to 1883 and has been held annually since. More than 400 Musters will be held around the world, wherever Texas A&M former students live or work. During wars, Aggies mustered in foxholes, on the battlefield, aboard ships, in airplanes, and in medical hospitals. In World War II, a Muster was held on Corregidor Island shortly before the Japanese captured it in 1942. The annual Texas Aggie Muster is one of Texas A&M’s greatest traditions.

Every Muster ceremony is the same. Texas Aggies pay their respects to all those who are absent because of death since the last Muster. If you have a name that should be submitted, please contact us. The names of the honored dead are called from the Muster Roll. To honor the deceased, a friend will answer, “HERE,” symbolizing that their memory lives on in the hearts of Aggies everywhere. Muster is more than a ceremony; it is also a way for Aggies to renew their loyalty and unity which constitutes the foundation of their friendship for each other and love and devotion for Texas A&M.

This year, the Falls County Muster will be held in Marlin at The Chicken Place. Muster will be Wednesday, April 21, with a 6:30 p.m. start as we howdy, shake hands, and visit. The catered meal will begin at 7 p.m. The cost for the meal will be $15 with an additional optional cost of $5 for Falls County A&M Club membership dues.

The 2021 Muster Message will be delivered by the Dr. James Cleveland Cathey family. Dr. Cathey is the son of Stella and Ol’ Jim Cathey and he is a Marlin High School graduate. His wife Carol and triplet children Sara, Rachel, and Jared are all Aggies!
