Falls County arrests two in stolen vehicle case

Two men were arrested in Marlin on May 25, after a Falls County deputy received an alert from an automatic license plate reader indicating a stolen vehicle.

According to the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day in College Station. Deputies located the car on Coleman Street in Marlin and conducted a high-risk felony traffic stop. Both occupants were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle revealed an AK-47 assault rifle with a loaded 30-round magazine, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, and two ski masks.

The suspects, identified as Carlon Evans and Jaquez Green of Calvert, were each charged with felon in possession of a firearm and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The sheriff’s office said the case remains under investigation.

The arrest was part of increased patrol efforts over Memorial Day weekend aimed at boosting public safety in Falls County.
