Falls County Extension Agent receives award

Pasquale Swaner received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during the 2022 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference in West Palm Beach, Fla., on July 20. 

NACAA is a nation-wide professional Extension organization geared toward Extension Educators/Agents and other professionals who work in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and natural resources, 4-H youth development, community development, and related disciplines. 

The DSA is conferred on members who have worked in Extension for at least ten years, are held in high esteem by their fellow workers, and have developed and put into effect an outstanding Extension program which includes carrying to completion constructive and outstanding work. Pasquale was one of several honorees who represent the top two percent of the membership selected by their peers. 

Pasquale Swaner, Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent- Falls County Swaner has continually provided outstanding contributions to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Program as well as impacted people’s lives, businesses, and communities. 

After graduating from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Animals Science and Master of Science in Agriculture, Swaner began his career with AgriLife in San Patricio County, where he worked for 3 1/2 years proving to be an asset to their program. Following his time in San Patricio County, he transferred to Falls County where the program flourished during his ten years in the county. 

Swaner was then transferred to Coryell County where he spent 3 years developing a very strong program. In 2016, Swaner returned to Falls County where he continues to play a vital role in educating the clientele about production agriculture and helping cultivate the youth into beneficial leaders of society. 

In addition, Pasquale Swaner assists all inter-county landowners and farmers with any ag related tasks or questions that they may have.  

As a single agent in Falls County substantial amount of his time is also dedicated to management of the 4-H program to have a positive impact on the future of agriculture.  He also provides leadership and assistance throughout the District and the State of Texas.
