Falls County GOP to Host Annual Ronald Reagan Spirit Day

The Falls County Republican Party will celebrate its annual Ronald Reagan Spirit Day on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, honoring the legacy of the 40th U.S. president and recognizing two prominent conservatives for their service and leadership.

This year’s featured guest speaker will be Karen Watson, author and longtime Republican advocate, who began her political journey as a young volunteer at the 1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas. Watson recently released her latest book, Being a Black Republican in the Age of Trump.

In addition, the event will pay tribute to State Sen. Brian Birdwell, RGranbury, who announced earlier this year that he will retire at the end of his 2026 term. Birdwell has represented Senate District 22 for more than 15 years and is widely regarded for his commitment to conservative values, public service, and resilience.

A U.S. Army veteran and survivor of the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon, Birdwell has been recognized throughout his career for his determination to overcome challenges and his dedication to both Texas and the nation. Falls County GOP leaders said Birdwell embodies the “Ronald Reagan Spirit” through his service in uniform and in the state legislature.

During the event, the Ronald Reagan Spirit Award will also be presented to a recipient who exemplifies Reagan’s principles of leadership, integrity, and patriotism.

The celebration will feature dinner, fellowship, and opportunities for conservatives, businesses, and candidates to sponsor tables. Sponsorships include media recognition, program listings, and space to display business or campaign materials. A table for eight is available for $450.

The event will also include door prizes, with donations welcomed. Tickets and tables may be reserved by emailing fallscounty-gop@ gmail.com

Payments may be mailed to the Falls County Republican Party, P.O. Box 1336, Marlin, TX 76661. Credit cards will also be accepted at the event.

Organizers said they look forward to an evening of “good food, fellowship, and meeting new friends” while celebrating the enduring legacy of Ronald Reagan and honoring two Texans for their service.
