Library receives grant

We are ecstatic at the D. Brown Library!

The library has been granted a $2,500 grant from the Dorothy Louise Kyler Foundation. The funds have purchased 261 items for our children and young reader’s section. These items are in format of books, DVDs, read along books with CDs and electronic readers.

We are so grateful for this foundation to help with the enhancement of our kiddos section. Along with this the library has got a donation of $1,000 for the purchasing of new rugs for our children’s section, chairs, and decorations that we will be using to promote reading and the library every month.

We want to say thank you to the Williams Foundation for this remarkable donation.

We just got word of a $200 grant from the Lonestar Día Celebration. These funds will help with the upgrade of the easy readers section with a purchase of 42 books.

The Wednesday Study Club has been busy helping in buying new items for the adults too. The library wouldn’t know what to do with these remarkable ladies. This group has shown a dedication to the library that is very much appreciated.

The staff at the D. Brown Library would like to thank all the community members for showing their support and being apart of our reading family.
