Miesha Banks receives Deputy Badge
Miesha Banks, one of the newest additions to the Falls County Sheriff’s Department, received her badge during Monday’s commissioner’s court meeting.
Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman was on site to present the newly licensed deputy.
Banks was promoted from within the Falls County Detention Center back in November and began her journey through Deputy School on Dec. 1.
She has since completed the program and has taken the final classroom exam, exceeding expectations.
“She scored the second highest in her class,” Scaman told commissioners during the meeting.”She’s represented us very very well.”
Scaman noted that throughout her program, he had been in contact with the instructor. He says that the feedback given was always positive and that the educator believes that Banks will be “a good one.”
The peace officer took her state licensing exam on June 4 and passed with flying colors. Her family and friends surrounded her as Sheriff Scaman affixed her first badge to her uniform.
