Pig show honors memory of Bryce Fikes

1st Corinthians 13:13 - “So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

Bryce Fikes gave people faith, he gave them hope and he showed everyone love. Saturday, July 23, Bryce was honored at the first annual Bryce Fikes Memorial Pig Jackpot Show hosted at the Rosebud-Lott High school farm .

This event brought families together to do what they love, show pigs, in memory of this remarkable young man. There were smiles, laughs as well as tears shed as the community participated in such an amazing event.

Bryce loved the show ring. He loved the work put into the projects, he loved helping everyone that shared in his passion, and most of all he loved competing against those same people in the ring, all while wearing his big beautiful smile.

There were roughly 30 exhibitors that participated in the show. Multiple wins, many smiles, and of course tons of support from the community itself made the event a success.

A huge thank you to the Fikes family for putting on such an inspirational event in honor of their son. Thank you to the judge, Dr. David Frazier for giving the young people the opportunity to exhibit their projects. Thank you to the Rosebud- Lott administration, Ag teachers and maintenance for all your help in making the event possible. And, thank you to each of the friends, family, and community members that volunteered, sponsored, made donations and supported these amazing kids. A special thank you to all of the sponsors. Without you, this event would not have been such a success. Sponsors were Temple Feed and Supply, S&L Feed, The Big Tease Hair Salon, Morgan Tindle with Platinum Ranch Realty, Connie Tindle with Texas Farm Bureau, James Robison with KB Electric, Haak Plumbing and Benchmark Buckles.
