PRESERVATION ROSEBUD PROGRAM BEGINS WEDNESDAY STUDY CLUB NEW YEAR
The Rosebud Wednesday Study Club met on September 12, 2018 at the D Brown Library with 16 members and guests in attendance. Burns called the meeting to order and led the group in A Collect for Club Women. Flag pledges were said. The group then went across the street to Preservation Rosebud where Marla Wallace gave the group a tour of the facility and told about how the idea to have a Rosebud Museum came about. What was once the old fire station and City Hall, is being converted into a museum.
The organization’s name was originally Rosebud Historical Society but was changed to Preservation Rosebud because the group wanted to focus on preserving Rosebud, not just having a museum. Wallace explained how the entire building is being renovated, including all new electrical, a handicap accessible restroom, reclaimed wooden ramps and iron rails, refurbished original ceiling tiles, and stripped and sanded concrete floors that are almost ready for new flooring
