Property tax increasd .02 for 2016 / 2017 county budget

With the public hearing requirement’s met by the Falls County Commissioner’s Court the elected officials of the court passed unanimously a .02341 property tax increase for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. The increase was largely due to salary increases for all qualified departments including elected officials. An example is that of the County Judge, an elected position that has not seen a pay increase for as far back as 2013, according to the working budget for Falls County that outlines actual expenses from 2013-2015.
