Ribbon Cutting 

A Ribbon Cutting for Maple Creek Tree Farm was held on April 29. Maple Creek Tree Farm in Rosebud recently opened. Dave and Vanessa Pfingsten are the owners. Dave grew up in West Texas, and Vanessa is from Ontario, Canada. Vanessa said that in Ontario, it’s easy to grow almost anything - there’s ample rain and the growing season is temperate. After moving to Texas 13 years ago, she had to relearn everything. They started growing trees on their property four years ago. This year they decided to take the plunge and open a nursery with a focus on trees, shrubs and perennials that gave a reputation for thriving in our region. They are open Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are located at 502 County Road 322, Rosebud. Just past the ball field on the left.
