RLISD ACE Program celebrates summer ACE Camp

On Friday, June 15, the Rosebud-Lott ACE program toured Rosebud businesses as part of their Summer ACE Camp. ACE is an afterschool program funded by a federal grant, 21st Century Education. The purpose of the program is to help students academically plus add enrichment activities. One activity is College and Career planning, so students had an opportunity to visit local businesses in Rosebud. Students visited City Hall and learned about local government, traffic laws, city duties, and heard from Rosebud Police Chief Hensley. Students learned the educational degree needed to become a police officer. Other stops included Artisan Alley, Classic Bank, Senior Citizens Center, Incommons Bank, and Hensel Hardware. Students were able to have a tour of Classic Bank and able to learn about safety deposit boxes and even got to walk into the vault.
