RLISD closed until March 30

Rosebud-Lott ISD will continue to be closed through March 30.

Superintendent Dr. Steve Brownlee announced this morning in a statement:

"Good morning RLISD Family. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, hopefully, that forces us out of our regular routine comfort zone.

I won't bore you with all of the details but I have participated, listened and watched carefully all week long to things going on around us here in Central Texas, in the US, and even globally.

For the safety of our kids, teachers, and community, I am calling for the closure of RLISD for one more week.

We want to get back into school asap but not at the risk of making our kids sick from something we cannot even see. Being that this is such a rare situation, we can only be diligent in our attitude and behaviors to do everything we can to extinguish this virus as quickly as possible and minimize the illnesses and possible fatalities to you and our families.

As I know you are, I will continue to monitor the progress of the virus here in Texas and our community. Hopefully, this time next week I will be telling you all to report back to school on March 30 but only time will tell. In the meantime, stay hunkered down as much as you can and stay well.

My prayers are with you, Dr. B"
