Rosebud’s Caywood Center gets facelift

The Caywood center has been closed for some time undergoing renovations. The beloved Rosebud facility was beginning to show its age and recent vandalism and other damages have degraded the appearance of the facility.

Once these poor conditions were observed by the Rosebud EDC, they decided to have the building remodeled. Once quotes were in the EDC Voted to accept Mr. Goeke’s bid and at the next city council meeting it was approved. Extensive renovations began in late March and ran to the beginning of June.

Once construction started the dividing wall was removed, leaving load bearing posts in place. This significantly improved the aesthetics of the interior. The walls were recovered in Victorian style, with wood panels, Floors were redone as well as the ceiling. Significant electrical and plumbing upgrades were needed as well as removing an old nonfunctional restroom. The results are astonishing.

Upon entry I was instantly taken back by the striking wood panels and the contrasting white trim, reminding me of a 19th century schoolhouse. The interior is beautiful, and the building is a great asset to the citizens of Rosebud.

The Rosebud EDC is made up of an incredible group of dedicated individuals that are deeply committed to the improved development of Rosebud. They provide low interest loans for business ventures as well as providing philanthropic services to the city. The board members are, President Carson Wallace, Secretary Martha Westermann, Treasurer Wayne Wilson, Mark Gerngross and Charlotte Stewart.

The city of Rosebud is thankful for their dedication and contributions to our community.
