Rosebud City Council fills Ward I position
The Rosebud City Council voted to appoint Randolph Barton to the open Ward I position during their meeting on Jan. 21.
Barton, who served on the council for four previous terms and an appointment, was the only applicant for the position.
“I would like to remind the council that recently the voting majority seems to feel like they are against appointments in general,” Mayor Roy Spivey spoke up at the start of the discussion.
During a previous meeting, the council decided against appointing someone to the position.
“If we’re going to be one way with someone,” expressed councilwoman Debra Kimble, “then we should be one way clear across the board.”
