Smoke Alarms Save Lives

“As most of you all know we installed smoke alarms on May 4 with the help of American Red Cross,” Jay Shultz with the Rosebud VFD said. “One of our smoke alarms was tested this past weekend and worked. This is proof smoke alarms can save lives. The Rosebud VFD still has a working agreement with the Red Cross to continue to install these alarms in houses located in Rosebud. I have a few folks waiting for us to get time to install them but if you have not contacted us wanting us to install these alarms please contact a firefighter. The picture is the burned up smoke alarm we salvaged from the house. The kitchen had extensive damage from fire, the rest of the house has smoke and a little water damage. Overall could have been a total loss. Great job to those firefighters that responded so quickly.”
