Spring Forage Field Day planned

McLennan County along with multiple county extension committees will host the 7th Annual Spring Forage Field Day on May 27. 

This year’s event will be hosted by Mr. Mark Perry and held at his property MP Brangus in Valley Mills. 

Garrett Thomas of Hi-Point Sales and Marketing will speak on Expected Progeny Difference. Logan Dodd from Trans Ova Genetics will be speaking on Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer. Jon DeClerck, a Beef Consulting Nutritionist with Purina, will speak on the Importance of Correct Mineral Supplementation. David Groschke, local cattleman and Limestone County Agent will speak on Replacement Female and Herd Sire Selection. Vanessa Corriher-Olson, Extension Forage Specialist will speak on Managing Native Forage, and Tracy Woods, Chief Genetics Officer with 44 Farms will be there to speak on Low Stress Weaning of Calves.
