Wednesday Study Club Enjoys Concert

The Rosebud Wednesday Study Club met on November 14, 2018 at the D Brown Library with 19 members and guests in attendance.

Norma Burns called the meeting to order with Ann Sonntag leading the prayer followed by flag pledges. Burns called today our Veterans’ Day Remembrance and welcomed military veterans including Diana Miles and noted Rosalie Haverstick who was absent. She reminded members of the Poppy Tree and asked for donations to support the Cameron VFW Post. Burns also welcomed new member Rita Burris.

In Committee, Kasner suggested that maybe next year we could volunteer to sell poppies at the bank or downtown to help people remember Veterans’ Day. Our next meeting will be December 12 and members are asked to bring their unwrapped gifts for the Blue Santa. Jeanie Cox will play Christmas songs. Hostesses will be Candy Fikes, Kasner, Springer, and Miles.

In Old Business Skupin noted that due to shelving collapsing in the librarian’s office and the need for space, the large table, computer and microfilm device have been moved back into the Memorial Room. Some shelving has been removed from the library proper to create a larger computer space. That shelving is being stored at City Hall. Skupin suggested that one section be used in the Memorial Room for possible display purposes.
