What Spells Does the Cauldron Have in Store for Us This Week? Stay Tuned!
Hello Sports Fans!
Is there a better time to be a cauldron than at Halloween? I mean, c’mon! Add to that a sterling record of 17-7 after going 3-1 last week and hey, it’s good to be alive – or whatever I am floating around in the ether.
Let’s recap, shall we. I picked Cameron, Rosebud-Lott and Thorndale to win and yessireebob . . . that’s just what they did. When it comes to Marlin, I have a tip for any of you keeping score at home. Whatever I pick for the Bulldogs, go the opposite way. There’s always one team that stymies me and it appears Marlin is that team this year. That said – it was nice to see them thump up on Riesel!
Let’s get to this week.
Cameron at Franklin
After an easy win last week, CHS has a tough District 11-3A matchup against front-runner Franklin. Hey, win this and the District is wide open. Unfortunately, Yoe, I don’t see it happening. Take Franklin by 28.
Rosebud-Lott at Marlin
Well, the good news for Marlin fans is that I’m going to pick them to lose. Out of six games I’ve picked of theirs this year – I’ve been wrong as often as I’ve been right. So in this District 132A rivalry, I’m going with RL by 17 . . . with one big caviar . . . or is that caveat? Dang, I’m hungry now. Anywho, if RL is looking ahead to next week’s big District showdown with Crawford, all bets are off.
Harper at Thorndale
T’Dale still has a shot at a District 14-2A champeenship, but needs some help. Who knows, they might get it because that Mason-Johnson City game is a bit murky to me. Thorndale is going to win this week by 20. That puts the ‘Dogs at 31 in the District (and a Mason loss puts them at 3-1). However, next week Thorndale has creampuff Holland and Mason has a challenge against San Saba (who T’Dale already beat this year). Could get interesting down south. Stay tuned!
