WSC has Ornament Exchange at monthly meeting

The Wednesday Study Club met on Dec. 13, 2023, at the D Brown Library with 13 members present.  Pat Runcie called the meeting to order and led flag pledges while Norma Burns gave the invocation.

Judy Smith told the group about a quilting activity that she participates in to provide wheelchair and walker bags to rest homes.   They also make placemats and microwave bowl holders.  She welcomed anyone who was interested, to contact her.

Members passed around Christmas cards to sign for The Heritage House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Members then participated in a white elephant ornament exchange.  All sorts of ornaments were shared, from laser cut wooder wisemen, clear glass globes, a dated gold tree, along with Santas, snowmen and angels.  A favorite was a Texas A&M ornament, but no one dared to steal it.  And some of the bags were decorated too, so the event was delightful for all.

Refreshments were served from the large oak table that was covered with a festive green cloth.  Tortilla soup with fixings of sour cream, cheese, and avocado was served along with chicken salad and a variety of crackers.  Desserts of gingerbread and iced sugar cookies along with pecan pies were enjoyed by all.  Hostesses were Koslosky, Ballard, and Fikes.  Members took great delight in the individual table decorations featuring all types of Santas.   The next meeting will be a workday on January 10, 2024.
