RLISD ground breaking for elementary school

Rosebud-Lott ISD has announced a date for the Ground Breaking ceremony for the new elementary school.

On Monday, September 11 the district will break ground on the new elementary school for next school year.

The school had hoped to start building at the beginning of summer, but was set back until recently. When contractors started looking at starting they were planning on running the sewage through the High School’s plant.

Once they started looking into it though they realized the building would have to have it’s own plant. Crews had to start on that before they could start on the building itself.

Now the time has come. The School Board met with the Contract Manager At Risk last Monday to discuss the overall price for all of the projects going on. The agreed upon amount actually came a little bit under what the board’s maximum was. This means that everything is in line to start construction on a brand new school for Rosebud-Lott’s elementary school students.

The ceremony will be held at the building site near the high school Monday at 11:30 a.m.
